I love this restorative pose – at anytime – however it is a great pose to get into the habit of practicing 10 minutes per day when you are preparing for an IVF cycle – it helps to open the hips, relax the pelvic floor, encourage improved pelvic blood flow and facilitates regulating breathing. As you will no doubt recognize, you will be spending a lot of time in this position for your treatment, preparing the body to open and receive intervention (especially as you are there voluntarily) is critical to reducing the mental and physical tension that becomes an inevitable side effect of infertility.
