An article out recently in the Journal of Nutrition advocates making breakfast your largest meal of the day and reducing down your total calorie intake over the lunch meal and even less food for the evening meal – even attempting no food for an 18 hour period – (i.e. after your last meal of the day and before breakfast in the am – this seems to be key to more efficient calorie burning and weight management. The same author, Hana Kahleova, MD, PhD Director of Clinical research for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in Washington, DC,  also has some compelling research on vegetarian diets being more efficient for weight management – see the links below.
